Tiling - Pt 2

I know this post is about tiling but we have handles in the kitchen too, however as you can see we have no benchtop still, now we are being told Monday or Tuesday... ish?

Anyway, the handles look very cool and the tiling work is excellent. Our tiler has been fantastic and has been running every small thing by me which has been reassuring.

So here are our kitchen handles.

The ensuite tiling has been finished and it just needs a good clean, some silicon and a lick of paint, oh and some fixtures and a toilet will be nice too. But it's getting there!

Tiling - Pt 1

Well we have some tiling done after a week or two of delays due to our spa not being ready. But we can put that behind us, the spa is in place and things are coming along.

The front porch was tiled first and has been grouted so it looks complete but just a little dirty (as seen below).

A close up of the charcoal grey coloured porch tiles.

The spa that has proven harder to get than we thought it should. It's in now and they've packed it in place with that muddy dirty stuff, made the whole house filthy as well!

The shower alcove in the main bathroom (no grout yet). The ensuite floor has almost been completed and early next week the walls of both bathrooms will be finished.

Just a shot of the laundry, included to illustrate our 400x100mm white wall tiles that will be used in the bathrooms as well. The light grout will soften these off when they're finished.

In other news our kitchen benches should be installed next week so we will have pictures as soon as the stone is in, once these are in the glass tiled splashback can be completed too. These pictures are a bit grotty but things should get tidier once the tiler finishes and they prep for the painters.

Some more kitchen

As the title suggests, some more photos of the kitchen. Today the island has been completed and it looks more complete than yesterday. Now we can just wait for some benchtops and handles.

A close up of our Laminex Morning Shale vanity in the ensuite. It has a lovely swirled and textured feel.

The main bathrooms Laminex Zincworks was a late call up after our initial selection was thankfully discontinued, thankfully because this forced us to make a decision and we now love the zinc colouring. The handles are mighty cool too (if I say so myself).

We have a kitchen

It was a busy Monday morning in the house as our cabinet makers were hard at work, the kitchen is looking great and the bathroom cabinets are in as well. Our laminate feature wall (as seen below) is something we have been waiting so long to see and to finally do so is excellent. We had some serious moments when we were quite unsure as to whether our cabinet makers would translate our concept into reality, now that they have it is nice to see it all come together as we had wanted.

Our pantry door is to the right of the oven cavity (on the dark licorice linea laminate wall). You can't really see it and that's the idea, the giant pantry loops back behind the laminate wall from the door back to the left side of the wall.

Benchtop with the fridge cavity to the right, this photo is taken from where the island bench will be by now. At the time of the photo it was still waiting to be put in place. The stone benchtops for both the bench and the island should be installed in the next few days.

Here is our ensuite vanity and basin. The bath and frame still have to be installed on the left hand side of the vanity

Tomorrow I will update with some more cabinet photos of our first almost finished parts of the house.

Lock it up

The house was officially locked up today. Our lovely green front and side doors are there for all to see (don't worry they won't stay that colour). You can also see the base render on the portico and the study, quite obviously this has not been painted yet and it will look much cooler in time. Even still our facade is kind of taking shape.

Our green door with translucent glass highlights.

The laundry door, this will be seen by nobody and still it looks good. But I am biased.

The sparky was at the house today as well, it seems that second fix is happening sooner than we were expecting. Today he had installed power points and was in the process of cutting into the ceiling for the downlights. The tilers won't be in for a while yet so we are assuming that there will be another electrical fix once the interior gets close to completion.
